Life can pull us off course in a hundred ways—distractions, disappointments, even our own sin. But God is always calling us back, ready to put our feet on the rock and get our lives moving with him again. The Bible talks often about “straight paths” and not turning to the left or the right. That’s God saying: Stay steady, stay focused, stay with Me, and we’re going somewhere special.
Here are nine powerful truths from Scripture to help you get back on track with God today.
Proverbs 3:5–6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Proverbs 4:25–27 “Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.”
Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Isaiah 57:14 “And it shall be said, ‘Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstruction from my people’s way.’”
Joshua 1:7 “Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.”
Philippians 2:15 “…that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”
Deuteronomy 5:32–33 “You shall be careful therefore to do as the LORD your God has commanded you. You shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. You shall walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess.”
Isaiah 40:3 “A voice cries: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.’”
Matthew 7:13–14 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
Getting back on track with God isn’t about trying harder—it’s about turning toward him and humbly submitting your will to his. The straight path is there, lit by His Word, cleared by His mercy, and marked by His love. Step onto it today. Don’t wait, don’t wander. The faithful God who calls you back will walk every step with you.
