Northwest 180 Kids Captain

Suzanne Hwang

Suzanne was born in Singapore and spent her early years living in Singapore, Thailand and South Korea. She moved to the Chicagoland area with her family when she was 7 years old. Suzanne accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in high school and continued to grow in her faith throughout college.

Suzanne graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from Indiana University and went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She spent many years teaching piano to children, high school and college students as well as older adults. She also worked as a Volunteer Assimilation Coordinator in Children’s Ministry in the Chicagoland area while also serving as a leader and helper.

Suzanne always had a deep desire to go into the medical profession and decided to go back to school to obtain her nursing degree from Harper College. She passed her boards in 2020 right as Covid was just beginning. She worked as a registered nurse in a hospital during Covid and continues to do so today in a GI unit at the hospital.

In her free time, Suzanne loves to spend time with her three children, Sarah, Joshua and Noah as well as her two dogs, Mochi and Murphy. She also loves to watch Korean dramas and read on her Kindle. She is very excited to join the 180 Kids staff and is trusting the Lord to provide and grow this ministry in amazing ways!
